ESVS Annual Meeting 2026

40 years of vascular progress

Background

The European Society for Vascular Surgery (ESVS) brings together vascular specialists from across the world to improve patient care by advancing education, research and collaboration. Its Annual Meeting is an important moment for the scientific community to exchange knowledge, discuss developments in vascular and endovascular surgery and explore what comes next. Following Istanbul in 2025, where the congress welcomed a record 1,873 participants from 74 countries, the Annual Meeting travelled to Belgrade for its 40th edition. For Congress by design, this next chapter in our long-term partnership with ESVS was about building on that international momentum while giving forty years of scientific progress a meaningful place in the congress.

A milestone congress calls for more than repeating a successful formula. Alongside registration, logistics, branding and signage, sponsor requirements, AV and digital support, our team focused on creating a smooth and welcoming participant journey throughout the congress. At the same time, this edition had a story to tell. Our motion graphic designer, Rik, translated four decades of the ESVS Annual Meeting into a visual journey, complemented by a tribute from Dichtwater to the ESVS community. During the Presidential Address and the Welcome Reception that followed, these stories came together in a celebratory show: a look back at four decades and a moment to look forward together.

Result

The 40th Annual Meeting brought the ESVS community together in Belgrade to celebrate forty years of shared progress and look ahead to what comes next. With a record 1,916 registrations and 925 workshop places sold, the anniversary reflected how strongly this community continues to grow and connect.
The numbers tell part of that story. Its most visible expression came during the anniversary celebration. In a 360-degree immersive hall, a visual journey brought forty years of ESVS history to life. The response in the room showed the value of giving a scientific community the opportunity to pause, recognise what it has achieved together and consider where it wants to go next. After Istanbul and now Belgrade, the long-term partnership continues to evolve with each edition. The city and circumstances may change, but the purpose remains clear: creating a congress where knowledge is shared, connections are strengthened and scientific progress can continue.
