Growing a scientific community through partnership

EFCLIN Congress & Exhibition 2026

Background

From 23 to 25 April 2026, the European contact lens and intraocular lens community gathered in Sitges, Spain, for the 52nd EFCLIN Congress & Exhibition. Organised on behalf of the European Federation of Contact Lenses and IOL Industries (EFCLIN), the annual congress brings together researchers, professionals and industry partners to exchange knowledge, strengthen relationships and explore developments within the field.
Our partnership with EFCLIN has grown over several editions. This continuity creates space to look beyond the practical organisation of the congress and focus on its long-term development. Each edition builds on the previous one, strengthening the scientific community while refining the congress experience.
The 2026 edition marked another important step forward. With a record number of exhibitors, growing international participation and the venue operating at full hotel capacity, the congress demonstrated the continued momentum of the EFCLIN community.

Our responsibilities included project management, participant registration, accommodation, financial administration, exhibitor and sponsor coordination, branding, signage, the congress app and on-site management. Every operational decision was made to support a smooth participant experience and create the conditions for meaningful scientific exchange.
As the congress continued to grow, flexibility became increasingly important. At the same time, programme updates, exhibitor requests and logistical changes called for close coordination between the organising committee, local suppliers and the audiovisual partner. For the first time, delegates used an official congress app with access to the scientific programme, speaker information, exhibitor details and practical updates. Together with EFCLIN, we also reviewed the sponsorship strategy through a meeting design session. Refining the sponsorship structure and pricing created greater value for partners and strengthened the commercial foundation of the congress. Sustainability remained an integral part of the approach. The printed programme was replaced by the digital app, digital branding solutions reduced printed materials, and local suppliers were selected whenever possible.

Result

The 52nd EFCLIN Congress & Exhibition welcomed 342 participants and a record of 32 exhibitors, making it the strongest editions in recent years. Participants awarded the congress an average satisfaction score of 8.9 out of 10, reflecting both the quality of the scientific programme and the welcoming atmosphere that continues to define the EFCLIN community.
The growing attendance created a vibrant exhibition and valuable opportunities for networking and knowledge exchange. With the venue reaching full hotel capacity, the congress demonstrated that participation has grown beyond pre-pandemic levels and confirmed the continued development of the EFCLIN community.
As preparations continue for future editions, including Dubrovnik in 2027, the 2026 congress shows the value of long-term partnership. By combining thoughtful planning with the flexibility to respond to changing circumstances, each edition creates a stronger foundation for scientific exchange and sustainable growth.
