At Congress by design, we organise international congresses where science and practice come together. These are places where ideas are shared that contribute to progress in healthcare, science and society. We believe that impactful congresses start long before the first participant registers. They begin with recognising opportunities: which associations are active where, which congresses rotate internationally, and where we can add value.

That is why we are looking for a Junior Account Manager who is keen to explore the international congress market and help turn opportunities into concrete proposals.

What will you do?

  • Mapping (international) associations and their congress structures
  • Analysing rotation schedules, bid procedures, and decision-making processes
  • Identifying opportunities for future congresses (often several years ahead)
  • Supporting acquisition processes and preparing client meetings
  • Building and maintaining initial contacts with associations and stakeholders
  • Contributing to bids, proposals, and presentations
  • Structuring and managing market information and leads (CRM)
  • Supporting the Account Manager in developing relationships and ongoing projects

In this role, you will work closely with our Account Manager and actively support the expansion of our network and the acquisition of new projects. You will map out opportunities, help prepare acquisition processes, and contribute to strong bids and proposals. You ensure we are well informed and properly prepared for meetings, helping to turn opportunities into concrete results. This is not a traditional sales role, but a position for someone who is analytically strong, curious, and enjoys understanding how markets and networks operate.

 

Who are we looking for?

  • You have a higher professional or academic level of thinking and working (HBO/WO)
  • You have 1–3 years of experience, for example in account management, consultancy, research, or business development. Experience in or knowledge of the international congress and association market is a plus
  • You are analytically strong and able to see connections others might miss
  • You are curious and enjoy exploring new markets and networks
  • You work in a structured way and can maintain an overview of complex information
  • You have strong communication skills in both Dutch and English
  • You are proactive and take initiative
