Project Manager Congresses

As Project Manager Congresses, you play an important role in the organisation of international scientific congresses. You independently manage medium-sized congress projects and support senior project managers in larger, more complex congresses. You keep a clear overview of planning, progress, quality, budget and scope, communicate smoothly with clients, colleagues, suppliers and venues, and ensure that projects are delivered professionally and carefully.

In this role, you work on international scientific congresses, whether live, online or hybrid. You are responsible for day-to-day project organisation, monitor planning, budgets, hours and progress, and independently manage medium-sized congress projects. For larger or more complex congresses, you take responsibility for project components within the project team. A senior project manager is available for questions, sparring and guidance where needed, allowing you to work independently with the right support in the background.

What will you do?

Independently coordinate and organise medium-sized national and international congresses.
Support senior project managers in large and complex congress projects.
Prepare, update and monitor project plans, action lists and deadlines.
Maintain contact with clients, suppliers, venues and other stakeholders.
Ensure that tasks, agreements, required hours and changes in scope are clearly aligned and documented.
Monitor quality, progress and budgets and identify in good time when adjustments are needed.
Identify risks, opportunities and areas for improvement within projects.
Work with colleagues on multiple congresses at the same time.

You work in an international environment with clients, speakers and participants from all over the world. A strong command of English is therefore important.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for an independent and enthusiastic project manager who gets energy from organising, collaborating and professionally delivering congress projects. You are confident enough to manage medium-sized projects independently, monitor agreements, planning, budget and quality, and communicate clearly with clients and the project team. For larger or more complex projects, you work together with a senior project manager who is available for questions and sparring.

You are a good fit for us if:

You have a higher professional education level of working and thinking.
You preferably have 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in project management, congresses or events.
You can independently organise and monitor medium-sized projects, including planning, progress, agreements, budget and quality.
You work in a structured and accurate way, with an eye for detail.
You are strong in communication and relationship management.
You take initiative, think ahead and take responsibility.
You have excellent spoken and written Dutch and English skills.
You preferably live within a reasonable travel distance of Alphen aan den Rijn.
