As a senior project manager, you play a key role in organizing international conferences. You lead project teams, advise clients, and safeguard the quality and financial outcomes of large-scale international scientific conferences. As a Senior Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the organisation of international conferences. You will lead project teams, advise clients, and oversee the quality and financial performance of large-scale, international scientific conferences. With your expertise, you ensure that conferences run smoothly and deliver meaningful impact.

In this role, you will be responsible for the planning and execution of complex (inter)national scientific conferences, whether in-person, online or hybrid. You will work closely with clients, manage project teams, and monitor the progress and budget of your projects. In addition, you will contribute to the development of Congress by design by sharing your knowledge and mentoring colleagues.

What will you do?

Independently lead large and complex (international) conferences from A to Z.
Draft and monitor project plans, budgets, and timelines.
Direct and support project teams, including registration, abstract, and program coordinators.
Advise clients on conference strategy, feasibility, and execution.
Ensure quality, progress, and budget control, and make adjustments when necessary.
Maintain strong client relationships and identify commercial opportunities.
Coordinate suppliers and partners both nationally and internationally.Keep up with industry
and apply them to your projects.
Contribute to the professional development of Congress by design and mentor colleagues.

You will work on multiple conferences simultaneously and interact with clients and participants from all over the world. Because Congress by design has an international focus, excellent command of the English language is essential.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for an experienced and results-driven project manager with a passion for conferences. You are a connector who can easily engage with clients, colleagues, and external partners.

You are a match for us if:

You have at least 5 years of relevant experience.
You can independently manage large and complex projects, and handle multiple projects at once.
You can think strategically with clients and identify opportunities.
You have experience managing budgets and financial outcomes.
You are a team player, but also able to lead and mentor colleagues.
You are client-focused and have excellent communication skills in both Dutch and English.
Preferably, you live in the region and can commute to Alphen aan den Rijn within 45 minutes.
